EUregio Scholars Literature Prize

Afterlight wins the EUregio Literature Prize for Scholars. Or the even nicer-sounding Prix littéraire des Lycéens de l’Euregio. Or the Euregio-Schüler-Literaturpreis. For this literature award, high school students read the Dutch, French and German translations of six novels. From these, they chose Afterlight as their winner.

The German translation (Kontur eines Lebens) was made by Birgit Erdmann. And the French (Au Crépuscule) is translated by Guillaume Deneufbourg!

On 22 May, the award ceremony for the three of them will be held at the Kurhaus in Aachen! Thanks to the trilingual jury of 400 schoolchildren from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Thanks to EuregioKultur for organising this special prize and to the wonderful publishers DuMont Buchverlag, Éditions Gallmeister and Uitgeverij De Geus.
