You have me to love, Jaap Robben’s debut novel, was published in 2014. Birk received rave reviews, won awards, was translated in many languages and a film adaptation by Jenneke Boeijink and film producer NewAms is in the works. More than 80,000 copies have since been sold in The Netherlands and Belgium. To celebrate Birk’s 10th anniversary, publisher De Geus published a beautiful edition designed by Rouwhorst + Van Roon with an illustration by the amazing Jan Hamstra. Hamstra also did the illustrations for Zwijgmannen.

‘Jaap Robben handles vulnerable and dangerous subject matter with subtlety and empathy, but also with a keen power of observation that is masterful and unforgettable.’ Colm Tóibín
